About the Town

Information about our borough

Everson Borough was incorporated in 1903. It lived its early years as a coal and coke town. Everson was named after Barclay Mozart Everson who ran the Charlotte Furnace for his father.

Everson Borough is located in Fayette county Pennsylvania on the Fayette/ Westmoreland border. 

Nestled in the foothills of the Laurel Highlands with Jacob’s Creek running along its border, Everson sits at an elevation of 1,070 feet. 

The borough of Everson is governed by the Mayor and the Borough Council, and is protected by the Everson Police Department and Everson Volunteer Fire Company.

The borough is a residential community and home to a handful of small businesses. Everson also has a VFW and a PAK as well as the Everson Evangelical Church and St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Centennial Park is located off of Jones Street and hosts the local school district’s summer lunch program.

Activities for young and old

Everson Borough hosts several event throughout the year for it’s residents to attend. 

To honor our Veterans and Soldiers, we host both a Veteran’s and Memorial Day service at our Veteran’s Memorial and every Christmas Santa comes to town for our Christmas Day Parade. Every Summer Everson takes part in Southmoreland School District’s Summer lunch program providing free lunches to children. In the early fall St Joseph’s Church hosts its fair.
